1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the website you visit places in your browser. They are used for strictly necessary tasks such as keeping you signed in, or for optional analytics. Your browser's local storage (localStorage) can keep your preferences for similar purposes; this Policy covers it too.
2. Cookies we use
Simply viewing a public page writes no LaunchUS cookie. LaunchUS cookies are written when you save your cookie preferences, choose a language or sign in to the portal; they are first-party cookies, which means they are set and read only by launchus.app. The bot protection on pages with the waitlist, registration and sign-in forms, the live support window when you open it, and the payment and identity verification steps may use the records described separately below. Our audience measurement tool sets no cookies; it is described under "Audience measurement without cookies" below.
Strictly necessary cookies
Without these cookies the portal does not work or your choices cannot be remembered; they require no consent and cannot be switched off.

The lus_at, lus_rt, lus_session and lus_role cookies are deleted when you sign out.

Local storage
- launchus-theme — your light/dark theme preference; written only when you pick a theme.
- launchus-analytics-consent — your analytics consent choice; needed so that your choice applies on every page, public pages included, and deleted when you sign out.
- umami.disabled — read by our audience measurement tool; if it is present, measurement stops in that browser. The site no longer writes it (until 31 October 2026 it was written when you withdrew your analytics consent); an existing entry stays until you clear your browser data.
These are not cookies; they are kept in your browser's local storage and are not sent to the server.
Bot protection and security
On pages with the waitlist, registration and sign-in forms, the bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) loads when the page opens. This tool and our content-delivery and security network (Cloudflare) may use short-lived security cookies (for example __cf_bm and cf_clearance) or browser signals, and a local-storage entry on Cloudflare's own domain, to tell automated attacks apart. These records are strictly necessary for security, require no consent and are not used for advertising.
Live support window
The live support window loads only when you press the "Live chat" button; if you do not press it, the support tool creates no record in your browser. When you open the window, the support tool keeps conversation cookies (cw_conversation and cw_user_…) and local-storage entries on the launchus.app domain so that your conversation can continue across pages and on your next visit. These cookies last 1 year, can be read by the page, are used for the support software running on our own server and are not used for advertising. You can delete them by clearing your browser data. Pressing the button means you ask for these functional records to be created.
Payment and identity verification
The payment and passport verification steps run on Stripe's own pages. On those pages Stripe may use its own cookies to prevent fraud and complete the step; these cookies are not set by launchus.app and are subject to Stripe's cookie policy.
Audience measurement without cookies
On the website and in the portal (except the staff screens) we count visits in aggregate with a statistics tool that runs on our own server. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address in readable form, does not follow you across other websites, does not collect form contents, has no advertising purpose and does not share the data with third parties. Because of these limits it runs without asking for consent, on the basis of our legitimate interest. If "Do Not Track" is switched on in your browser, no measurement takes place. The tool is named in the recipients section (Section 5) of the Privacy Notice (KVKK).
Optional analytics cookie
- Analytics — this option covers analytics features that would use cookies or similar records in your browser. None is active today, so choosing it places no analytics cookie in your browser; the audience measurement above does not depend on it. If such a feature is enabled later, it will be described in a new version of this Policy before it is enabled and will run only for visitors who have chosen this option (with the "Analytics" option in the cookie preferences or in the portal).
Marketing
The cookie preferences include a "Marketing" option. No advertising or marketing tag is active today; ticking this option does not place any advertising cookie in your browser. If advertising measurement is enabled later, the tools, cookies and data destinations will be described in a new version of this Policy and of the related privacy texts before it is enabled, and it will run only for visitors who have given marketing permission.
3. Cookies we do not use
- We do not use third-party advertising or marketing cookies today (see "Marketing").
- We do not use social-media tracking cookies.
- Session replay is disabled today; if it is enabled, it runs only with your separate consent and within the scope described in the Session Replay Consent.
4. How to manage cookies
- Cookie preferences: you can change your analytics and marketing choices at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. If you are signed in, you can also give or withdraw your analytics and session replay consent in the portal under Settings → My privacy choices. Your browser's "Do Not Track" setting stops the audience measurement.
- Browser settings: every browser lets you view cookies and site data, delete them individually or all at once, and block new cookies; the option is usually under "Privacy" or "Site data". If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you cannot sign in to the portal and your cookie preferences cannot be remembered; if you block the security records, the bot protection on forms may not complete.
- Sign out: signing out of the portal deletes the session cookies and the analytics consent record.
5. Changes and contact
When the cookies we use change, this Policy is updated with a new version. The data controller for this Policy is SYNCHSEA LLC, whose name and contact details are given in the Privacy Notice (KVKK).
